Let’s dive into some essential puppy training tips that will make this journey enjoyable and successful for both of you.
One of my best tips is to keep, short and frequent training sessions work best. Puppies have short attention spans, so aim for 5-10 minutes at a time. And always finished the exercise in a positive note.

Basic skills for Everyday Success
These are key skills every puppy should learn because they will help your puppy become a well-mannered companion.
1- Crate Training
A crate is a safe haven for your puppy. It helps with potty training and prevents destructive behaviour when you’re not around. Introduce the crate slowly:
Make it cosy with a soft blanket.
Toss in treats or toys to create positive associations.
Never use the crate as punishment.
Start with short periods and gradually increase the time your puppy spends inside. This builds comfort and trust.
2- Sit
Here is how you can teach him easily:
Hold a treat close to your puppy’s nose.
Move your hand up, causing their bottom to lower.
Say “sit” as they do it.
Reward immediately.
3- Stay
Have your puppy in front of you
Say “Stay” once
Take a tiny step back. If the puppy doesn’t move, return and reward
Increase distance and duration slowly. Step back farther and wait longer each time.
4- Come
Start in a quiet area.
Say your puppy’s name + “Come!” in a cheerful voice. Encourage them.
Open your arms, kneel, or back up to make them want to run to you.
Once they arrived reward generously.
Increase distance when you seen they are improving.
5- Leave it
Place a treat on the floor, covered with your hand.
Say “Leave it.”
When the puppy backs off, reward from your other hand (not the floor treat).
Slowly uncover the treat only when they consistently leave it alone.
Practice these commands daily, and soon your puppy will be responding like a pro!

Building a Strong Bond Through Training
Training is about rules and connection. When you train your puppy, you’re also building trust and understanding. This bond makes your puppy feel loved and secure.
Try to keep training sessions upbeat and playful. Use toys and games to make learning exciting. For example, play a game of fetch to reinforce “come”.
If you ever feel stuck or unsure, don’t hesitate to seek out puppy expert training advice. Expert guidance can make all the difference and help you tailor your approach to your puppy’s unique personality.
A well-exercised and healthy puppy is more likely to be calm and responsive during training.
Training your puppy is a wonderful journey filled with learning and love. With these puppy training tips, you’re well on your way to raising a happy, well-behaved dog who will be your loyal companion for years to come. Enjoy every moment - your puppy is counting on you!
